The UFC returns to East Rutherford for the first time since 2001, when Tito Ortiz defeated Elvin Sinosic to become the UFC light heavyweight champion. That card in 2001 also featured UFC legend BJ Penn, as well as notable stars Josh Barnett, Pat Miletich, Shonie Carter, Caol Uno, Vladimir Matyushenko, Andrei Arlovski and Ricco Rodriguez
May 5th will provide fans with over 5 hours of LIVE UFC action -- total of 12 live fights beginning at 4 p.m.
Announced cards consist of: an outstanding five-round lightweight bout between Whippany’s Jim Miller and rugged contender Nate Diaz as the headline, with the winner moving one step closer to a title shot. The remaining main card bouts include: heavyweights Pat Barry vs. Lavar Johnson; welterweight contenders Josh Koscheck vs. Johny Hendricks; middleweights Rousimar Palhares vs. Alan Belcher.
The day will also feature an exciting preliminary cards, which will be confirmed at UFC.com in the coming weeks.
